Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 — live AI interpretation in six languages

At the Thinker's Fest inside SIBF 2025, LEXA delivered live AI interpretation to a seated audience across four days, working in six languages including Arabic. Not a recorded pilot — a real audience, in real time, at one of the largest book fairs in the world. The work was covered by Gulf News.

What the system does today

15 cultural agents

Each language has a dedicated agent with its own register and expertise — not one generic model translating everything. Arabic, Urdu, Persian, Chinese, Hindi, Bengali and more.

Complete books, unattended

A 500-page book is divided at paragraph boundaries with a mathematical guarantee that no character is lost, translated segment by segment on our servers, and delivered by email — the user can close their laptop.

Verified, not assumed

The system checks its own work for omissions before returning it, retries failed segments, and delivers a side-by-side parallel copy so a human can confirm nothing is missing.

Built for this region

Most translation tools treat Arabic, Urdu and Persian as afterthoughts — right-to-left support bolted on, religious and literary registers flattened into plain prose. LEXA was built the other way round: these languages came first, with native right-to-left handling through to the exported document, and agents instructed to preserve classical and theological register rather than simplify it. It is developed in the UAE, for the languages this region actually reads and writes.
